Have you heard the gospel?
The gospel is the good news that Jesus saves us from our sin and from death!
What We Believe
GOD / JESUS / HOLY SPIRIT
We believer there is only one God. God eternally exists as three persons – God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each of these three distinct persons, or what is known as the Godhead, are fully God; all of God’s attributes are true to each person and together they are one God.
(Deuteronomy 6:4 / Ephesians 4:6)

THE CHURCH
We believe the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head and as such has all authority over it. The focus of the church is to glorify God by loving and serving Him in all we do. The purpose of the church is to be disciples who make disciples.
(1 Corinthians 12:12 / Romans 12:4-5)

THE CHRISTIAN LIFE
We believe every Christian should live focused on the will of God in a way characterized by sacrificial service for Him. Through faithfulness to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should strive to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
(Colossians 12:12 / 2 Peter 3:18)

THE BIBLE
We believe that together the 66 books of the Bible are the completed, inspired, infallible Word of God; it is God’s revelation about Himself to man. It is historically accurate and internally consistent centered upon one theme — the story of the redemption of sinful man through Jesus Christ, God’s Son. The Bible is sufficient for all of Christian life and practices and is the final authority for every thing we do in life.
(1 Timothy 3:16-17 / Hebrews 4:12)

HUMANITY
We believe man was the pinnacle of God’s creation, created in the image of God to have intimate fellowship with Him. Sadly, however, man became alienated from God through sinful disobedience. Having fallen, as a direct result of sin, man is incapable of reconciling himself to God through his own effort… only by God’s grace can man be reconciled to God.
(Romans 3:23 / Ephesians 2:8-10)

SALVATION
We believe the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on Calvary’s cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation occurs when individuals place their faith in Christ, accepting and fully trusting His death and resurrection as sufficient payment for their sins. When a believing, repentant individual is baptized (immersed in water) God forgives their sin and gives them the indwelling gift of His Holy Spirit.
(Acts 2:38-39 / Romans 8:1)

Baptism

Baptism by immersion in water is a demonstration of obedience to Jesus and an outward expression of inward transformation. Jesus set the example (Matthew 3:13-17) and told us to baptize people and help them grow (Matthew 28:18-20). Baptism is a life-giving, God-honoring, promise-driven decision in which your new life in Christ begins and you are gifted with the hope, counsel and comfort of the Holy Spirit as you grow in Christ.

Member

A member of Croton Church of Christ is a baptized believer and follower of Jesus Christ who is growing in their walk with the Lord in the context of this church family (Scripture: Romans 12:4-5 / 1 Corinthians 12:12-31). Being a member of a church is a dedication to engaging in a shared healthy relationship with God in community with other members by worshipping together, serving together, growing together, praying together, giving together, loving one another as we grow in grace and knowledge

of Jesus (1 Peter 3:18).
