There is good news!
 
The power and truth of the good news starts off with some bad news:

we have messed up, we have sinned, we are not in a right relationship with God who created us and loves us.

The result of sin is death and separation from God.

Here is the good news, great news actually:

Jesus, perfect and holy, took upon Himself the death we deserve so that our sins may be forgiven and we can have a purposeful relationship with God.
 
God has provided a way for us to be in a right relationship with Him through the death of His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross. Our punishment for sin was death and Jesus died in our place. He gave everything for us to live with hope in this life and for all eternity. There is hope…you can be saved from sin and death. You can have a new and abundant life in Jesus Christ! This is called salvation.
 
Salvation
(Gospel = good news that Jesus saves us from sin/death)
  • Hear the Gospel (Romans 10:17 / John 8:32)
  • Believe the Gospel (John 3:16-21 / John 20:31)
  • Repent of past sins (Luke 13:3 / Acts 17:30-31 / Romans 6:23)
  • Confess faith in Jesus (Romans 10:9-10 / John 14:6)
  • Be baptized (Mark 16:16 / John 3:3-5 / Acts 2:38)
  • Grow in Christ (Matthew 22:36-39 / Colossians 2:6 / 2 Peter 3:18)
  • Life of discipleship (John 10:10 / 1 John 2:5-6 / Matthew 28:18-20)
